I rented a room at the Tropicana in Atlantic City a year ago to write some songs and clear my head…I had never been to a casino before, the restaurant Carmines was great but I found the casino to be a dark place…a lot of desperate old people…just a mess. For those of you have never been to AC the immediate area outside of the Casino’s is a desimated place, the boardwalk is disgusting…place is falling apart. So at night I sat at the window and my view was a run down old motel that looked like a suicide factory. Needless to say I couldn’t write to save my life. I wound up reading the last of Grapes Of Wrath and passing out…it all caught up to me when I got home and I wound up writing the song “Can’t Shake This Town” I did an acoustic version on the new Sleep Station record (which is free at www.airandseabattle.com) and we’re doing a full band version for the new record, we’re still working out the kinks but if you get a chance, check it out, it’s on our myspace. Anyway I took this picture of the room I stayed in and a few others that I’ll post…
